The Ist Video Contest: “Hubei Province Cultural Heritage · Yangtze River Culture Overseas Ambassadors”

From the Three Gorges to Wuhan River Beach, from ancient Jingchu culture to modern Hubei, the Yangtze River weaves together the landscapes and humanity of Hubei Province, shaping a unique spiritual symbol in this land. International students, having encountered the Yangtze River by fate, serve not only as witnesses to Chinese civilization but also as bridges for cross-cultural exchange and mutual learning.

1.Eligible Participants

Full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students currently enrolled in Chinese universities, including international students.

2.Activity Schedule

(1)Submission Period: July 1, 2026 – September 1, 2026

Individual/team voluntary registration.

Submit video + registration form(s) to the designated email by September 1.

Individual: Submit Individual Registration Form (Appendix 1).

Team: Team leader submits Team Registration Form (Appendix 2) + All Members’ Forms (Appendix 3).

(2)Selection & Exhibition: Early September 2026 – Mid-October 2026

①Preliminary Round: Video Screening

A jury of industry experts evaluates entries based on:

Relevance to Yangtze River culture

Production professionalism

Overseas communication appeal

Originality & compliance

②Semi-Final Round: On-Site Presentation

Outstanding works’ authors/teams present live. Exact time and rules will be announced separately.

3.Entry Requirements

(1)Creative Standards

Original & innovative; highlight Yangtze River/Jingchu culture.

Adapt to overseas audiences’ cognition & aesthetics; reflect Hubei characteristics.

Positive, healthy, and artistically valuable content.

(2)Copyright

Creator retains copyright; liable for legal disputes over infringement.

Joint usage right for creator & organizers; organizers may sublicense to partners for promotion.

(3)Themes

Focus on Yangtze River/Hubei culture for global promotion:

Historical heritage, natural ecology, modern development of the Yangtze River

Hubei’s tourism resources & cultural traditions

Format: Travel vlog, cultural popularization, personal story, situational performance (creator must appear on camera as an "ambassador").

4.Entry Categories

(1)Short Video Track

Core: Strong visuals + emotional resonance

Duration: ≤ 1 minute

Aspect Ratio: 9:16 (vertical)

(2)Long Video Track

Core: Light narration + cultural decoding

Duration: 3–5 minutes

Aspect Ratio: 16:9 (horizontal)

(3)Micro Film Track

Core: In-depth insight + thematic discussion + value output

Duration: 8–10 minutes

Aspect Ratio: 16:9 (horizontal)

5.Detailed Video Specifications

(1)Submission E-mail: 327639017@qq.com

(2)Entries must be submitted as videos; shooting devices and editing software are unrestricted.

(3)Videos must be self-shot with the creator appearing on camera. The main language shall be English or other foreign languages, with bilingual Chinese and foreign subtitles.

(4)Format: Minimum resolution of 1080P, MPEG4 format.

(5)Originality: Entries must be original. Internet footage shall account for no more than 10% of the total work; AI-assisted creation is not allowed in principle.

(6)Content: No commercial advertising content is permitted. Only finished works are accepted (no semi-finished products).

(7)Submission Package:

①Individual: Video + individual registration form (in one folder).

②Team: Video + team registration form + all team members’ registration forms (in one folder).

Note: All participants are deemed to agree to comply with the above provisions. Any non-compliant work will be disqualified upon discovery. The organizers reserve the final right of interpretation for this activity.

6.Awards

(1)Short Video Track:First Prize, 1 winner; Second Prize, 5 winners; Third Prize, 10 winners.

(2)Long Video Track: First Prize, 1 winner; Second Prize, 5 winners; Third Prize, 10 winners.

(3)Micro Film Track: First Prize, 1 winner; Second Prize, 5 winners; Third Prize, 10 winners.

Note: Award-winning works will be promoted on overseas social media. Outstanding creators may be appointed as Official Yangtze River Culture Overseas Ambassadors.
