Objectives
Our department aims to train students to be talents with a wide range of cultural knowledge, creative ability and sturdy basic theory of Broadcasting and Telecommunications. They need a keen sense of social observation, good political quality, social responsibility, professional spirit and professional ethics, so that they could engage in the programs to interview, to plan, to arrange, to manage and to make it out.
Requirements
Our profession is closely linked with policy and involves many aspects. We also think highly of the students’ Practical ability. As a result, we would like students to study the basic principle of Marx systematically, to master the basic theory and knowledge of Broadcasting and Telecommunications, to take essential training in news interviewing, writing, editing, etc. Besides, students also have to make sure that they have good scientific and cultural quality, moral psychological quality and physical quality, and the ability to engage in social activities and scientific researches.
The knowledge and ability required for a student to graduate are:
1.The fundamental knowledge and theory of broadcasting&telecommunications, journalism and communication;
2.Knowledge and skills concerning news reporting, writing, editing, recording and producing;
3.The ability to express things orally and literally, the ability to interview and report before the lens, the ability to investigate, participate in social activities and research; the ability to plan, produce, review and analyse the TV& broadcasting programs;
4.Getting familiar with strategies and regulations on TV&Broadcasting;
5.Getting familiar with the knowledge of humanities and common sense of science and technology, getting familiar with cultural creative industry and history& current conditions of the development of Chinese and foreign TV &broadcasting.
6.The ability to use foreign language and new technology of communication, the ability to do junior science research.
Length of Schooling and Credits Required
Educational system:4 years. Freshmen take the courses of fundamental courses of journalism and communication and general education. Then students can choose a major according to their needs and interests from Journalism, Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Advertising and Communication.
Credit requirement: 140

Fundamental courses: Introduction to Journalism, Introduction to Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Introduction to Advertising, Introduction to New Media, Theory of Mass Communication, Ethic and Regulation of Media, Research Method of Media, Application of digital technology.
Professional courses: Use of TV camera, Non-linear Editing, Script Writing, News Review, Multi-media Reporting, News Photography, History of Chinese Journalism and Communication, History of TV& broadcasting development, Review of TV programs,P lan of TV& broadcasting programs, Visual creative economic, Cultural industry& TV.
Bilingual courses: English Newspaper Reading, Visual Communication.
Special courses: Oral communication, Live Telecast& Reporting in scene
Main Experimental and Practical Requirements
Main experimental courses include Experiment on Use of TV camera, Experiment on Non-linear Editing, Experiment on digital photography and design of picture on computer.
Requirements of Practice:
The practice education includes curricular internship, vacation internship and major internship. Teachers would guide students to have practical activities in campus according to their curricular plan. In vacation, school requires students to practice in media or participate in social activities. Students have internship in professional media in 6th semester for 3-4 months. The total time of practical internship has to be more than 30 weeks.
Requirements for Graduation
The students will be permitted to graduate only when they get full credits, finish their thesis and pass the defense. The Bachelor of Arts will be granted if a student reach the requirements.

Objectives

They need to be familiar with China's news, publicity policies and regulations. As a result, they could engage in broadcasting, hosting, editing, program making and some other jobs.

3.The ability to use classic Mandarin and express things orally and literally, the ability to interview and report before the lens, the ability to host two types of program independently at least, the ability to investigate, participate in social activities and research; the ability to plan, produce, review and analyse the TV& broadcasting programs;
4.Getting familiar with strategies and regulations on TV& Broadcasting;
5.Getting familiar with the knowledge of humanities and common sense of science and technology, getting familiar with history and current conditions of the development of Chinese and foreign TV& broadcasting.
